The Malaysian Road Transport Department (RTD) (Malay: Jabatan Pengangkutan
Jalan Malaysia, or commonly known as JPJ) is a government agency under the Malaysian Ministry of
Transport.
It is responsible for providing counter services for licensing of
vehicles and drivers and the enforcement of the Road Transport Act 1987 to
ensure safe drivers and safe vehicles.
Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Negeri Perlis in Arau (JPJ Arau) is
the State Road Transport Department head office in Perlis
which is responsible to oversee the JPJ branches operation
in Perlis, it also providing counter services for various procedures related to
vehicle permits and driving licenses.
