1. What is the Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP)?
The VEP is a requirement for all foreign-registered vehicles entering Malaysia from Singapore, aimed at regulating and monitoring vehicle entries.

2. Who needs to apply for a VEP?
All foreign vehicle owners, including private, commercial, and Singapore-registered motorcycles, must register for a VEP. This includes embassy and government vehicles.

3. How do I apply for a VEP?
Owners or their representatives must register online at the Road Traffic Department's website and follow the instructions provided.

4. What documents are needed for the VEP application?
Required documents include motor insurance, a copy of the NRIC, and a certificate of entitlement.

5. How do I receive my VEP RFID tag?
Once your application is approved, you can choose to receive the tag by courier or collect it in person at a designated center.

6. How is the RFID tag attached to the vehicle?
The tag should be placed on the top left corner of the windscreen or the left headlamp, ensuring it’s at least 5 cm away from metal parts.

7. What should I do if my RFID tag is damaged or lost?
If lost or damaged, update your vehicle status on the online portal and provide a police report to obtain a replacement tag.

8. Is the VEP transferable between vehicles?
No, the VEP is unique to each vehicle. If you acquire a new vehicle, you must register for a new RFID tag.

If the tag is found to be tampered with, a fee will be charged for a replacement tag.
